In 1926, Hendrik Buchinhoren opened a smithy near to Roodevaart, a stone’s throw away from the second company premises on Apolloweg. What started out as a smithy and workshop for agricultural tools has grown into a leading steel construction company with more than 40 employees and dozens of satisfied customers.
The smithy flourished and the business expanded its activities. This saw Hendrik’s children and grandchildren working from the business as bicycle mechanics and milkmen, for example. The company’s first steel structure dates back to 1960 and after that, the generations that followed focused increasingly on steel construction. In 1993, the company constructed a building on Apolloweg at the Moerdijk industrial park. A smart move for over the next 25 years, turnover has increased more than twenty-fold and many construction companies rely on Buchinhoren for strong steel structures and customised service. By 2018, we had also outgrown these premises which led to us moving to Hooge Zwaluwe.
